The following images demonstrate some of the anomalies that thermal imaging can identify.

These two images are of the same section of wall. The left-hand image is a normal photograph, showing no surface indication of the large patch of damaged insulation obvious on the thermal image to the right.
The black patch on the side of this refrigerated lorry is a cold area caused by a gap in the insulation.	The curved black line and patches on this exterior wall, are cold areas caused by wall damage in the cold cell on the other side.
Degraded insulation between this corridor and the cold chamber on the other side of the wall, has caused these cold areas.	The bright lines in this image, show damage to the edges of insulation panels, allowing heat ingress into the cold store.
The very bright rectangle is an electric heater! It was installed in a chill store to try and balance the low temperature caused by ineffective insulation.	Creeping water damage has degraded the insulation panels, causing this characteristic heat signature.
Heat ingress is clearly visible in this ceiling panel. The bright rectangle on the left is actually a light fitting.	In this cold cell, the door is no longer used and has been sealed shut to act as a wall, however the massive decay of the insulation has rendered it useless.
